(Ages listed are age range for children as of August 31st)

Baby ‘n Me (ages birth to 1 Year) – Led by Teacher Jen Belcourt

For parents and infants from birth to 12 months. The major goal of this weekly class is to foster optimal development of the infant, give parents support and an opportunity to explore child development and parenting issues. The class consists of sharing time for parents, singing and movement for infants, directions on how to make appropriate toys and topical discussions led by the instructor.

Explorers (ages 1-2) – Led by Teacher Erin Middleton

For parents and children 1-2 years. This class meets once a week.  The purpose is to give parents of this age of child an environment where they can comfortably bring their explorer for a positive exploratory experience while remaining in close proximity to their parent. Parents explore developmental issues pertaining to children this age as well as to adult issues of growth. Parents alternate each week between supervising the children’s lab and attending a discussion led by the instructor for 30 minutes each class.

Toddlers (ages 2-3) – Led by Teacher Erin Middleton

For parents and children between 2-3 years old. The purpose of this class is to provide a positive experience twice a week for the child and enable the parent to investigate a variety of toddler developmental issues and parenting concerns. Each class consists of outdoor time, free play, snack or lunch, and singing. Curriculum also includes several field trips throughout the year. Parents alternate each week between supervising the children’s lab and attending a discussion led by the instructor and may choose to drop off one day a week if they want to and the child is ready. (Drop off is not mandatory.)

Movers (ages 3-4) – Led by Teacher Erin Middleton

For parents and children 3-4 years old. Classes meet three times a week, 2 ½ hours each day. Children will participate in “Small Groups” each day to practice more social skills, self regulation and fine motor.  The purpose of this class is to offer children this age a positive opportunity to explore a wide variety of materials, deal with a longer separation from their parents and explore social relationships with one another. Parents examine issues concerning the development of three year olds. Curriculum also includes several field trips throughout the year. Each week, parents drop off their child for two days of class and attend the other day. Parents alternate between supervising children and attending discussion led by the instructor.

Groovers (ages 4-5) – Led by Teacher Erin Middleton

For parents and children ages 4-5 years old. Groovers meet three times a week, 2 ½ hours each day. Each week, parents drop off their child for two days of class and work the other day. On workdays, parents support children’s activities and participate in discussions about family issues. The purpose of this class is to offer a more independent model of play for the children with a minimum of transitions. We build community; practice math, language/literacy, and fine motor skills; enjoy packed lunches and outdoor time. Groovers are both gaining confidence in their own abilities and learning about themselves in relation to others. Curriculum also includes regular field trips.
